homeless shelter, and substance abuse help
Hillcrest Transitional Housing
offers displaced families a disciplined educational program
within a caring Christian environment. Unlike many organizations whose focus is immediate or emergency care, Hillcrest’s
objective is to move families from homelessness to self-sufficiency within 90 days by addressing the total live situation
of the homeless families they serve

Linwood Center Supportive Housing 101 W. Linwood Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64111 (16) 756.2769 Provides up to 24 months of
shelter, comprehensive case management and follow-up service8s for homeless families and women. The program offers individualized
action plans that promote goal attainment, leading to an increased self-sufficiency, improved independent living skills and
an increased ability to secure and maintain permanent housing.
Crossroads Shelter 14704 E. Truman Rd. Independence,
MO. 64051 (816) 252.3200 This 50 bed shelter is the only one of its kind in Eastern Jackson
County and is open to individuals and families 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Residents are allowed up to a 60 day stay in
which, they also have the opportunity to take life skills classes and participate in a required support group. Crossroads
also offers an outreach program for low income and near homeless individuals and families.
Northland Family Shelter 5935 N.W. Bell Rd. Parkville,
MO (816) 587.4224 The only shelter of its kind in the Northland,
this new facility accepted its first residents in August, 2005. It can accommodate 30 women and families at one time and expects
to fill an immediate need in the area. In addition to shelter, residents are provided case management to assist in identifying
solutions to problems that contributed to their homelessness as well as, assistance in securing more permanent residence.
Virginia
Harding Center for Homeless Services Harbor Light Village 6723 State Avenue Kansas City, KS 66102 (913) 232.5400 This facility, which
opened in early 2008, is a 16 bed emergency facility to accommodate families and single women in need of shelter. It features
a child’s play therapy room. As an extension of its homeless services, The Salvation Army also operates a transitional
living program which can accommodate individuals and families for up to two years. Harbor Light Village also features a transitional
living facility for homeless veterans dealing with addiction issues.
Johnson County Family Lodge 402 E. Santa Fe Olathe,
Kansas 66061 (913) 829.0578 The only shelter of its kind in Johnson County, this 44-bed facility
offers programming in life skills while the residents work to become independent. Transitional housing ,which includes scattered
and on-site units, is also offered to residents from the shelter as a long term housing option.

Senior Housing & Programs
Booth Manor in Kansas City, Kansas These 35 ranch style apartments also offer seniors safe and affordable housing. In addition, it allows them

Senior Camp: This
week of fun is held each summer and allows senior citizens to engage in many of the same exciting activities that younger
campers experience, such as, swimming, crafts, fellowship, cookouts, Bible Study and field trips.
Telephone
Reassurance: This program puts volunteers in touch with homebound
or elderly folks who have no one to look after them. Phone calls are made in extreme heat and cold to ensures that all is
well. Follow-ups are made as necessary.
Dial-A-Ride: An invaluable service offered to handicapped and elderly in the area, unable to drive. The van takes people
